Middle East

Several countries in the Middle East, including KSA and UAE, have AI-focused rules and regulations, including principles around development and use of AI.

China

Partial regulation with focus on LLMs and deepfakes; requires content moderation and input data quality.

South Korea

"Allow first, regulate later" has been the motto. But, a consolidated body of law governing AI is in the making.

Japan

Currently no AI-specific regulation, but voluntary AI standards for businesses. However, new AI Bill with fines and penalties is being debated.
